Personal Profiles: Reading between the Lies by Miss Know It All

Sometime ago, I saw a court case on television involving a couple. The male plaintiff was suing his ex-girlfriend for half the payment of a car, which he had rented for the both of them to take a trip.

The two met on an online dating site. The defendant came across the plaintiff's personal profile. She became very interested in his bio, which indicated that he was divorced. She decided to contact him. For several weeks, they emailed each other. Eventually they exchanged phone numbers and decided to meet in person. The two became smitten with each other; within a short period, the couple began dating. However, the relationship was doomed before it got started.

During the courtship, the defendant discovered that the plaintiff was married but was not legally separated from this wife. The Judge asked him if he was divorced, and his reply was no. When the Judge brought up the fact that he had lied about his marital status in his personal profile, the plaintiff’s reply was that he was divorced from his first wife but was still married to his second wife while he was seeing the defendant.

There is a moral to this story. When a person describes himself or herself as divorced, ask from which spouse. Is it spouse number one, two, or three? Before you become involved with someone you meet online, take the time to make certain the person is truthful about his or her marital status.

To avoid being embarrassed on national TV, do a thorough background check before committing yourself to anyone. Get to know the individual before becoming emotionally and physically attached. Forming a relationship is easy. Getting out of a relationship built on lies can be costly.

Great Holiday Destinations for Romantic Weekends by Elle-Rose Williams

When you first start dating, heading away for a romantic weekend is the things dreams are made of. As Bridget Jones once said, a weekend away together is when you first know the relationship is going somewhere!

Of course, because of all of this, it’s important to get the destination spot on! Pick the wrong place and you might end up with a disaster weekend, rather than a passionate romantic weekend – which is no doubt what you’re aiming for!

Here we’ve put together our best selection of romantic weekend getaway locations… so enjoy!

Paris - Paris is one of the first locations that pops into anyone’s head when you mention romance – after all – this is the city of love! The famous love story Moulin Rouge was set here – and you can even explore Moulin Rouge whilst you’re in Paris. A great way t get there is on the EuroStar – as it’ll take you straight into the city – so you can start exploring right away. Enjoying walking along the romantic Paris streets, take in the atmosphere and even enjoy a coffee overlooking the Eiffel Tower. It really is hat dreams are made of. The Eiffel Tower is hugely romantic if you want to score romantic brownie points on this trip though – so make sure you don’t miss this off your itinerary!

London - London is a great city to spend the weekend in – and has just about everything you could hope for. There is world-class shopping for those who love browsing the rails, but there are always lots of historical monuments, museums, galleries and tourist attractions. For something super romantic, try taking a walk along the embankment at sunset, and then taking a ride on the London Eye in the evening where you can look over the glittering lights of the city. You can even get champagne packages on the London Eye, which is really something special and something you’ll never forget!

Venice - They say that you should never take a Gondola ride, unless it’s with the person you love – so where else could be more romantic for your first vacation together. Venice is small enough to enjoy in a weekend too – as it’s a very small city and the joy of visiting is more about the experience, than cramming in tourist attractions and sights. Enjoy the lifestyle during your time here and take in the different way of life here. Sip a coffee whilst watching the world go by, or have a candle-lit dinner overlooking the ocean.

Dubai - If you fancy something a little bit more flash, and have a long-weekend to waste, then Dubai is a great choice. It is home to some of the world’s most luxurious hotels, so spend your weekend soaking in the luxury and soaking up the sunshine whilst lying by the pool! For something extra special try taking a trip up the Burj Kalifa, the world’s tallest building – where the sunset views will make anyone’s heart melt. You can see just about everything from up here for miles around – and it is truly breathtaking that’s for sure.

Meet Kate Patrick, Author of Love Beyond the Curve

About the Author

Kate Patrick, Author
Kate Patrick grew up in the South. She can’t recall a time in her life when she didn’t love to read. She remembers going to the library as a child where she devoured biographies and Nancy Drew mysteries. Her love of reading has continued into adulthood, but it is hot romance that she loves to write! While in high school and college, she and her sister began to write romantic stories about girls that met their dream guys who fell instantly in love with them. Even these early manuscripts were spicy enough that the need to “hide” these notebooks was a high priority when leaving the house!

Writing took a backseat to a teaching career, marriage, and motherhood, though books were constant companions. Love stories became a favorite, and began to take the place of mysteries more and more. About three years ago, the idea of writing was rekindled. Now, you can find her late at night typing away by the blue glow of her laptop screen.

She and her husband live on the Gulf Coast with their son and three quirky Pomeranians. When not writing or reading, Kate loves to sing, dance, and watch romantic movies, side-splitting comedies, and crime dramas. Spending time connecting with family and friends is an important priority for her as well.

Love Beyond the Curve Blur:

Charlotte is shocked to find her new landlord, Reed Jackson, is tall, dark, and gorgeous.  The two become fast friends, enjoying times spent together, more than times apart. Charlotte can’t believe that Reed finds her curvaceous figure incredibly sexy.  Can Reed convince her he wants to be more than just “friends with benefits”?

Will Charlotte and Reed find… Love Beyond the Curve?

Love Beyond the Curve Excerpt #16

Reed closed his eyes and thought again about the night he happened to be sitting on his back porch smoking when her shadow in the French doors caught his eye.  He had actually taken a cold shower that night to try to erase the effect that sensual dance had had on him.  If he thought much more about it now, he’d have to do the same thing again.  That could prove embarrassing with her flipping back covers without warning.  Maybe it wouldn’t be embarrassing at all.  Maybe she would just go down on him right then and there.  Hell, he would love her to do just that while still wearing that nurses’ uniform.  He hadn’t been in so much pain that he hadn’t noticed the top button was unfastened, revealing an alluring glimpse of cleavage.  And when her arms were over her head as she twisted her hair into a knot, the outline of just how buxom she really was made him stop and stare.  He really had to get his mind on something else, because lately he found most of his thoughts were ending up being about Charlotte.

Kate will be awarding a $5.00 Starbucks Gift Card to a randomly drawn commenter at the end of each week of the tour; and a $25 Visa Gift Card to one randomly drawn commenter at the end of the tour as well as a $20 Amazon Gift Card to a randomly drawn host.
