Have you ever met someone and believed that person was the one. The lust is beginning to develop. Quickly, you two become lovers.

The relationship is so hot, you see the two of you being together eternally. You are really in love with this individual; you would walk on burning cold to be with that individual. But after a couple of years together, the relationship ends. That man/woman left you for another person, better yet, that person was your best friend.

Eventually, you feel as though your world has ended. Your breathing becomes rapid to the point where you believe you are suffering from heart failure.

What you are really facing is Broken Heart Syndrome, also known as Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy, Stress Cardiomyopathy or Stress-induced Cardiomyopathy. Wow, these terms are tongue twisters. This condition typically occurs after severe emotional or physical stress and can mimic the symptoms of a heart attack.

Sometimes you hear friends say, “He or she died from a broken heart when a spouse passes away. Yet this broken heart syndrome can be serious if not treated at once.

When a Couple Sells Tickets to Their Wedding by Miss Know It All

Miss Know It All

I am giving away my age when it comes to weddings and who should pay.

The first wedding I attended was in the 50s. As a rule, the bride’s parents paid for the wedding. And the last wedding I went to was in the 90s. I am not sure who paid for the festivity, but I do know the bride and groom never asked their guests to purchase tickets to attend their nuptial, and if they did, the talk among friends and relatives would have made a memorable talk of the town.

How the dynamics have changed, and some weddings, especially larger or more elaborate ones, may require guests to buy tickets. This approach can help manage guest lists and cover costs for elaborate venues or special entertainment. I read where a couple was selling tickets for $350.00 to attend their wedding party.

The average cost of a wedding has seen a steady increase compared to previous years. This uptick is attributed to a combination of inflation, heightened demand for personalized experiences, and the continued impact of post-pandemic economic recovery. While the average expenditure varies widely depending on location, style, and guest count, couples are generally spending more to create memorable and unique celebrations.

The average wedding, depending on where you live, can cost anywhere from $25,00 to $75,000 dollars. When it comes to planning a wedding, couples pay for their own wedding, or both parents of the bride and groom will pay. Of course, cultural and ethnic differences may play a role as to who will pay for the wedding.

I can understand setting up a gift registry. But when you sell tickets to finance your wedding, you may be asking others to go into debt to pay for your festivity. You and your partner are getting married not your guests.

Before saying, I Do, decide if you are financially able to plan an elaborate fête. If you are already in debt, it will only get worse if you take on a bigger obligation that can stick with you for years to come, affecting your credit rating.

You can always go to City Hall or plan an economical wedding.

Spend time on ways to build a long and happy marriage, which is more important than spending money you don’t have on the wedding. ##
