Don’t Allow Family Members to Rain on Your Relationship by Miss Know It All

Miss Know It All

It is usually a given that some family members will try to interfere with your relationship by providing unwanted advice about the person you have selected to be your significant other. While some members mean well, others can create havoc by spreading rumors or lies about your partner. A few will go so far as to say they saw your man or woman engaging in some sexual activities, which may be far from the truth due to resentment.

I enjoy watching the reality TV court show: Couples Court with the Cutlers, who are married attorneys, where couples come to court to find out if their lover or spouse is cheating by taking a lie detector test. Some of the reasons folk give for suspecting their partner of cheating can be hilarious, like sniffing a man’s private part or finding condoms or a woman’s panties in a car. Sometimes a family member has supposedly seen the person cheating, yet the lie detector will indicate no cheating. Most of the time, the relationship will become stronger through counseling; in some cases, the bond or family liaison will end because people refuse to mind their own business.
