Dating During the Coronavirus Crisis by Miss Know It All
![]() |
| Miss Know It All |
One of the most important methods to protect
oneself is to wash your hands well and often after using the bathroom, touching
surfaces, or handling food with soap and water for 20 seconds or longer,
something we should have been doing long before this outbreak surfaced. And
cover your mouth when sneezing, and coughing.
Before engaging in sexual intercourse, you
should know your partner’s status. You are more at risk of getting STDs or HIV/AIDS
than getting the Coronavirus if you are participating in this act
indiscriminately. As a doctor once said on a TV talk show during the HIV/AIDs
epidemic, “If you are having sex, you are participating in high-risk behavior.”
So, no matter how well you may think you know your partner, or if you are just
meeting someone for the first time and can’t control those lust demons, please
encourage your partner to use a condom. If he refuses to use a condom, then
walk away. #

Soon she has evidence that casts everything she and Zeke thought they knew in doubt—and puts them on the same team. Nothing will stop Kennedy from exposing the truth. Not losing her career, being personally exposed, or a cost far more than she ever imagined . . .

So when Kim, Jayda, and Harley meet in a support group, they've got no options left. It’s time for them to launch Plan B. And they won't stop at infiltrating Hammond 's elite world and uncovering mass corruption. Exploiting his deepest weakness is the ultimate delicious payback—and the kind of justice they'll gamble everything to get . . .
“A thought-provoking takedown of the $70 billion commercial-prison industry. Readers might find it’s just the right time to read about women fighting injustice—and one despicable man—together.”—Booklist

How Dating Terms Have Changed by Vivienne Diane Neal
I must
say, “I am dating myself.” No, this is not what you think. I haven’t gone on a
date since 1982. But at least I knew back then where I stood when it came to
dating and romance, where people vocally said what they meant, and not beat
around the bush. There was no internet or social media to fall back on when it
came to starting or ending a romantic relationship. If you no longer wanted to
be involved with someone, you would face that individual, communicate on the
phone or write a Dear John letter.
But today,
dating has taken a different route when it comes to the way people deal with
dating and romance. The phrases used when referring to dating are so complex
that I thought I would list some of these expressions that would make my mother,
who passed away at the age of 95 in 2019 and my grandmother who passed away at the age of 90 in 1985, scratch their heads. Boy, how times have changed. I am just
wondering what they would say if they were alive today. They would probably be
as befuddled as I am, at age 73.
Following
are some off the wall words that were created by millennials, those born
between 1980-1995, which are now trending when it comes to dating and romance:
Laybe or Layby - strongly feels their relationship
isn't going to last longer than rain shower and have turned to a couple of
strong prospects, just to be prepared; this individual doesn’t like being
single and is ready to make that leap without much hesitation.
Hang Out - has replaced the word dating,
which no one says anymore. Hanging out has very little commitment and both
parties can feel comfortable being together without any unrealistic romantic
expectations.
Cushing - people who are already in a
relationship but will flirt with others on the side just in case things don’t
work out.
Breadcrumbing - a hit and miss message, a
playful "hi" or "what's up" to check-in. But, it's just
enough contact to lure a target into imagining the realm of a possible
relationship, when in reality there's no chance.
Turning - hitting on an individual and
hoping for a more intimate connection.
Slow fades - the relationship is about to
end. There are very little texts, social media contacts, and little direct
messages.
Ghosting - is nothing new; it means the person has done a disappearing act and you will never receive any more texts,
phone calls or social media messages.
Benching - An individual may bench someone
they've dated, along with a couple of others, as a way of saying, "I'm
just not sure yet!"
Umfriend - another way of saying, “A friend with benefits.”
Catch and Release - is all fun and games, at least
for the person doing the fishing? These people don't seem to care about the
release part or the hurt feelings that may result.

Things You Should Never Talk About or Do on a First Date by Miss Know It All
![]() |
| Miss Know It All |
A first date is an initial meeting between two
individuals, whether they have previously known each other or not. An effort is
made to ask questions and get to know if they can form a relationship. The goal
is to plan a loving connection, finding a romantic or sexual partner for a
short time, or seeking a long-term partner or spouse.
Your first date can be a wonderful experience or it can
end up being a disastrous event. So, you
want to be on your best behavior and make a good impression. This is not to say
there will be a second date, but the last thing you want to do is sabotage your
meeting by doing or saying something that will kill your chances of having more
dates. If you want to have a date to remember, which will lead to a second,
third and fourth date, there are topics you should never discuss and an act you
should never do on that first date.
·
Don't
ask are you seeing anyone.
·
Why
did your last relationship end?
·
Do
you still talk to your ex?
·
When
it comes to certain topics, avoid discussing politics, and religion. It can get
very intense. Reserve that when you have known the person for a longer period.
·
Never
talk about how bad your ex was. You will come over as a resentful individual.
·
Leave
financial information off the table.
·
If
you are a parent, don't bring your children into the conversation.
·
Don't
ask personal questions, namely - what is your ethnic background? For People of
Color this can be a thoughtless question.
·
Don't
discuss your sexual adventures. A lot could be read into this. You could be
seen as someone who is just looking for a one night stand or seeking a friend
with benefits.
·
Don't
tell the person that you are ready to get married and have children. Wait until
you have established some sort of relationship before treading into this
territory.
·
Don’t
text or talk on your smartphone. It’s rude.
·
Never
have sex on the first date. With the surge of STDs, HIV, and AIDS, the last
thing you want to do is play Russian roulette with your life.

How to Recognize When You’re Being Deceived on Your First Date by Vivienne Diane Neal
When a person shows you who he is, believe him the first time; don’t be fooled by his drop-dead gorgeous features, his way with words, and his dress to kill apparel, and the first topic of discussion is money. However, you ignore this sign because it’s love at first sight, and you want to see him again.
On the second date, you are slowly being played by a master manipulator. He invites you to his place for dinner and will make you a memorable meal. The food is most likely frozen dinners, and all he has to do is heat it and serve it. And this where you should you recognize that this relationship is doomed right from the start when he gives you a sob story that he lost his job and will ask if you could lend him money to help pay his rent until he finds another job.
Yet, the biggest shocker is when he asks you to co-sign for a car after knowing him for only one month. You give him the money because you feel sorry for him, have fallen hard for the man and see the two of you living happily ever after. But when you ask for the money back several weeks later, he tells you the monies were gifts. This means you will never see your money unless you take him to court; if you didn’t have him sign a promissory note, most likely you can say goodbye to your money unless you receive a text message saying he borrowed or owes you the money. He will never admit he owes you any money.

Tips For Couples When Choosing A Mattress by McKenzie Dillon
Choosing
a mattress you’ll love for the next 8+ years can be stressful enough, let alone
finding one to accommodate two people. When couples are in search of their
perfect mattress, you want to make sure you follow these three rules so you
make sure neither you, nor your significant other is sacrificing any
sleep.
1.) Find
An Appropriate Firmness Level
You
always want to take your sleeper type into consideration when you’re shopping
for a new mattress, and it isn’t any different when you’re searching for a
mattress to share with a loved one. If you and your partner have the same
sleeper type, you’re in luck — you just have to find something that caters to
your sleeping position.
Side
sleepers should consider something soft to cradle their pressure points, while
back and stomach sleepers will sleep more comfortably on a firmer mattress that
keeps their spine in neutral alignment. Combo sleepers can either choose a
firmness level based on their dominant sleeping position, or go for something
in the middle.
If you
have a different sleeper type than your partner, which is highly likely, try to
do what combo sleepers do and find something around a “medium” firmness level.
They tend to be the sweet spot between supportive, but also pressure relieving.
Keep in mind, there are plenty of mail order mattresses
online that come with free trial periods, so you can return your bed and get
100% of your money back if you or your significant other don’t your new
bed.
2.)
Make Sure It Has Good Edge Support
Another
key bed characteristic a couple should look for in a mattress is good edge
support. If you don’t know what edge support is — think back on a time where
you were pushed to the edge of the mattress because of your bed hogging
significant other. Did it feel like you were going to roll off the side, or did
it feel sturdy and supportive? Hopefully it was the latter, which means the bed
had good edge support. The entire perimeter of the mattress should feel
supportive enough to comfortably lay on the very edge, especially if you’re
looking to share a queen or full size bed.
3.)
Look For A Mattress That Isolates Motion
When a
mattress has good motion isolation, you shouldn’t feel or be jolted awake every
time your partner gets up in the middle of the night to sneak a late-night
snack or to use the bathroom. If you share a bed with a partner, all-foam beds
tend to do a better job than hybrid mattresses at isolating motion since they
do not have any bounce from coils.

Protecting Your Online Accounts from Credential Stuffing Threats
When the holidays draw near, you can be sure cyber threats are not far behind, one of them being “Credential Stuffing,” which has emerged as a leading cyber threat against your financial, retail, social media and email accounts.
“Credential Stuffing” is a method used by cybercriminals to try to gain unauthorized access to your digital accounts. By using lists of stolen user names and passwords from previous data breaches, cybercriminals randomly attempt to log into websites and social media accounts in the hopes that individuals will set up those same user names and passwords for some of their other online accounts.
This threat is real and it is on the rise. It works because many people do not follow best practices when creating login credentials.
You can minimize your risk of becoming a victim of “Credential Stuffing” by doing the following:
· Choose different user IDs and strong passwords for your online accounts.
· Change your passwords regularly.
· Never reuse IDs or passwords across your online accounts.
· Don’t use your email address as your user ID.
· Avoid using easy, guessable passwords; try substituting special characters or numbers for certain letters.
· Never utilize your Facebook login to access financial websites.
· Never use the same password for your online and social media accounts.
· Never respond to phone, email or text requests for personal or confidential information.
