EXCERPT

Clifton punched his way through, walking ahead to Kemi’s office. With her head bowed low, she was scribbling on a sheet of paper in front of her.

For a few moments he leaned against the door frame watching her work. His stomach twitched and his muscles tautened.

Then she lifted her head. Her hand went straight to her chest. “What! You scared me.”

He pushed away from the wall and dangled the basket in his hand. “I come bearing food, workaholic. Are you hungry?”

His sensational boss pushed her seat back and stood. Her face broke into a huge smile. “How nice of you, Clifton.”

“If you can’t come to the dining area, I’ll bring the food to you. Should we eat?”

Ambling with one hand flicking through her hair, Kemi skewed her head. “I’m starving! Let’s go out to the deck.” She took his hand and led the way to the alfresco area overlooking the sea and the sky.

Laughing as he walked behind her, he stared at her backside. “Good view from where I’m walking.”

When they got to the deck, she pushed him against the glass wall and pressed her palms on his chest. “Stop staring at my backside.”

Her cheeks waffled with mini-giggles.

“Then stop walking in front of me.” He clipped her wrists with his right hand, cuddled her waist with his left hand and lowered his head. “Can I kiss you here?”

“No.”

He did anyway, flashing his lips past her mouth a few times. She shut her eyes, and leaned closer, so her lips invited him inside.

Parting her lips, she shut her eyes and leaned closer, inviting his tongue to chat inside her mouth.

A full charge of voltage coursed through his body before he poached her mouth with his own.

When her eyelids glided open, their eyes had a long chat.

“Anyone could be watching. I’m trying to preserve your honour,” he explained, in response to the unspoken question–why did you stop–in her eyes.

“I know.” She backed down and went to stand by the banister. “You look hot, just to deliver lunch to your boss.”

Featuring Book Tour for O'Shay & Sanaa by Jonas Brinkley

Write Now Literary is pleased to be organizing a book tour for O’Shay & Sanaa by Jonas Brinkley. The tour will run March 4-15, 2019. Book your own tour here

Book Title: O'shay & Sanaa: An Urban Romance

Genre: Romance

Book Release Date: March 21, 2019

Pre-Order: B & N Kindle: http://bit.ly/2NuOsmA

Currently an independent author, Jonas Brinkley was born in Georgia and was raised by his mother in Tift County. His writing talent manifested from his teen years and by the encouragement from his relatives and friends, he developed it by taking the relevant college courses that honed not only his writing skills but also knowledge on various fields like theosophy and business. He founded (Voice of My Ancestors) Voma Publications LLC. J. Brinkley’s unconventional philosophies about life and love are a gift that ought to be shared with the world via writing.

When O'shay London met Sanaa Holland, it was an instant attraction. They dated for a while and found themselves in love with each other. Finalizing their romance by tying the knot, O'shay and Sanaa found things between them starting to fall apart soon enough - happiness and fulfillment were replaced by grief and bitterness. As the couple grapples with the circumstances that change their lives forever, the question of what truly bonded them arose... LOVE, LUST or OBSESSION?

Sanaa sat in the dressing room of the breathtakingly beautiful Crystal Ballroom in Metro West, Orlando, Florida. The wedding area was adorned with eighteen dimming chandeliers, pipe and drape backdrops with up lights, Silver Chiavari chairs, high top tables, ivory linens, gorgeous aqua and silver floral arrangements, aqua candles, candelabras, and ceiling drapery. She still couldn't believe her wedding day had finally arrived. She had told her bridesmaids and her maid of honor to give her a minute to herself. Lana, Tasha, Renee, Niki, and her best friend, Bria, had been her girls since their early college days. She couldn't imagine this day without them. After Bria had finished applying the finishing touches to Sanaa's make-up, the ladies left the room and quietly closed the door behind them.

Sanaa stared at her reflection in the mirror as she reminisced about first meeting O'shay. They were both college students at the time. He was studying at the University of Central Florida, working towards a degree in Aircraft Engineering. He had wanted to someday become a pilot and Sanaa was studying Criminal Justice at Keiser University. She aspired to be a criminal defense attorney. They were at Starbucks, both of them cramming for midterms. Sanaa tried not to stare when he walked through the door, but he was so handsome, he literally took her breath away. She noticed him watching her too. He appeared to be somewhat shy, and that's always a turn-on.

After a while, they both got up to leave at the same time and as fate would have it, they bumped into one another. They struck up a conversation and before parting, exchanged phone numbers and made plans to hook up. They were inseparable from that day forward. Now five years later, they both have promising careers and big dreams for their future. They were about to become husband and wife.

Practical Advice for Beginning Fiction
(or other genres) Writers by Jonas Brinkley

When I first started writing I would just write whenever an idea came to my mind and it worked fine. Then I noticed how fast people were releasing books. I asked myself, what makes people successful? This is when I reached the conclusion that creating a system to write a number of words a day is where an author or entrepreneur gains their success. I then set a goal to write 1,500 to 3,000 words a day. If this is too many words due to your daily work schedule, then feel free to reduce your writing to 750 words a day. The goal is to do something over nothing. Consistency is key.

Before you begin writing make sure that you research your genre and know who your audience is. Learn about the graphic trend and the authors who are excelling in that genre. Figure out a way to enhance what's already out there without losing your own uniqueness and voice. Also, make sure that you have a great editor on standby to edit your manuscript once it's down. Doing your background check on this subject matter is a must too. It can save you a lot of time and money.

There are so many publishing platforms that you can use such as 1) Kindle Direct Publishing, 2) Draft 2 Digital, 3) LuLu, 4) Ingramspark. Once again do your research and choose the one that's best for you. They all have their pros and cons but that's life right?

Marketing is another challenge. It's good to have a product to sell but without having an effective strategy to sell your product, it's like spitting in the wind. You can market online and offline since I'm an author and businessman, I do both. People should be thankful for the internet because it allows us to reach more people and it can be cost effective if we learn how to use it accordingly. The internet is all about staying relevant to people. All the free social media platforms (e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Twitter, Linkedin etc)  also have pay for advertisement service. Learn how to use it. Other than that, word of mouth is golden.

The aforementioned advice is for those authors who are traveling down the self-publishing road, but if you are with a traditional publisher… I would say, you will still have to promote your work to some degree.
