Why I wrote Forbidden Dance by Stella Eromonsere-Ajanaku

Many marriages are cracking, some are on the verge of falling off the cliff, and others have ended in separation and divorce.

It takes two people to make the marriage work. However, at some point in any marriage, only one person will seem to put in time, effort and passion. And at other times, it flips, until both parties realize they need each other to make their marriage bloom.

Like so many other women in her shoes, Alero Thomson from Forbidden Dance had given up hope on enjoying a loving marriage with her husband, Kyle. She was desperately unhappy and miserable.

Alero found a new lover, and a new life. But the new man was not the same man she tied the knot with at the altar.
Hope must be kept alive as long as we live because miracles still happen every day, just as it did for Alero and Kyle.

I wrote Forbidden Dance in the hope that many women who are on the verge of divorce would reconsider, and give their marriage another shot.

Alero folded her arms across her chest. “You’re wasting your precious time Kyle. Our marriage is dead and I attended the funeral in London. As usual, you were absent, but it didn’t stop the proceedings. So, move on. I have done the same.”

Kyle’s handsome face was fiery red in a flash, and his eyes shot daggers at her. “Can I have an ice pack for my nose, please?”

Even her hardened heart took pity on him. His shirt collar hung askew. She retrieved an ice pack from the freezer and gave it to him, avoiding his gorgeous angry eyes. There was no point staring at his exotic features. He could wrap her round his handsome face anytime he liked. But she was over his charm.

Kyle’s eyes travelled straight to her fingers. “Your rings are gone.”
She splayed out her bare fingers. “I threw them in the drain where they belong.”

Her husband flinched. “You didn’t have to do that, Alero. I screwed things up pretty bad. But it is not over with us.”

A bitter grin spread across her face. “Us? There has been no us for a long time. I sat in your empty house in the hope you’ll come to your senses, instead-”

EXCERPT

The silent communication in her eyes, the stillness of her body told me she knew I was hurting.

Her hand cupped the nape of my neck. “It’s okay, I’m here—I’m here,” she whispered as she kissed each tear on my cheek.

She slanted her mouth to capture mine and kissed me slowly as her hand curled around my body, pulling me against hers. I drew a breath and held it as her lips caressed my neck.

I was falling.

Deeply.

Unconditionally.

In love with her.

A chill swept across me as the warmth of her body left mine and she sat up, sliding off the t-shirt I had given her to wear to bed, then slid on top of me. Her deft fingers slipped beneath the waistband of my boxers, light kisses raining from her lips against my skin as she moved down my body, sliding my boxers off and throwing them to the side. She reached to the nightstand to grab a condom, when my hand stopped hers. I wanted to feel all of her—bare.

Her eyes blinked hard as I flipped her over and slid on top of her.

As our sleek bodies moved feverishly against each other, I held her tight, wanting to remember the smell of her hair, the touch of her skin, the taste of her lips. This was where I wanted to be, this was where I belonged, buried inside of her.

As we found our release together, her body fell limp against mine and I wrapped my arms around her, never wanting to let her go. I raised my head to look down at her and could see tears forming in her eyes and I knew for that moment, she was completely mine and I was hers. And I knew I was ruined, I would never feel the same way about another woman as I felt about Violet.  I kissed her softly on the lips.

Book Blitz - Diversifying the Paranormal: Creating the Multicultural Women of Kala West by Auriella Skye, Author of The Alpha Warlocks’ Desire

I’ve been a fan of paranormal erotic romance stories for years now. One of my first encounters came from Laurell K. Hamilton’s Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter series. Some fans were angry at the erotic turn of the series. However, I ate it up like a jolly kid in a candy store with no appetite control. Then came my Kate Douglas addiction. I gladly shelled out dollars for her sexy Wolf Tales series to get my erotic fix. Don’t even get me started on J. R. Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood world. Now, those are some alpha males.

These worlds were worth every cent I spent on them. They offered some diversity here and there, but not much. I always loved the stories that had black female protagonists because this made it easier to see myself in the heroine’s shoes. That’s when I ventured out into the world of interracial romance. I discovered authors like Eve Vaughn and Tressie Lockwood and instantly fell in love with interracial paranormal romance.

The problem? There are not many interracial paranormal romance books out there to frequently devour. Even fewer in this unique category have erotic romance elements. One thing that I’ve learned as a writer is that sometimes you have to write what you really want to read. I wanted paranormal erotic romance with interracial main characters that I could fall in love with and daydream about. That’s how my idea for the world of Kala West, Florida came into writing reality.

It certainly helped to have a television show love for paranormal themes too. Shows like Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, Lost Girl, Witches of East End, Penny Dreadful, and the numerous other supernatural shows available have all planted seeds to help grow my own paranormal universe. There’s something spectacular about getting lost in the surreal and forgetting about reality, especially when they have memorable heroines.

What I really wanted as a writer was to take what I learned from all of these elements to create strong, magical, and multicultural female heroines who proved to be just as strong as the many non-multicultural heroines who inhabit amazing stories today. Add in some sexy alpha heroes who know how to appreciate curvy women and their diverse roots, and I knew I had created something special.

I would absolutely love to see more books that capture the amazing world of interracial and multicultural paranormal romance. It may be small now, but there’s a need for it, and it is steadily growing. I know as a reader, I needed it. I’m sure I’m not alone. Until then, I certainly plan on writing my own contributions to this sexy and magical genre.

Although I have three planned stories circled around the strong and bold people in my Alpha Warlock of Kala West universe, my imagination has so much more to create. I absolutely love this world, and I’m hungry for it. It’s a place I don’t mind living in often, even if it’s just as an erotic romance language contributor.

Publisher: Sensual Skye Publishing
Pages: 93
Genre(s): Interracial Paranormal Romance

Plot Summary:

Curvy witch Claire Brixton is in no mood for a party, especially one that’s supposed to match her up with two strange warlocks. Her experience with one warlock was bad enough. Besides, she has responsibilities to think about. With her big sister away enjoying her own sexy Perfect Triad match, Claire has to oversee the magic shop and try to keep their youngest Brixton sister from burning it down.

When Claire finally discovers her two gorgeous warlocks, she's taken aback by the magical chemistry between them. It's enough to both scare and excite her. One touch makes her crave more of them. However, memories of the past linger in the air, and insecurities and doubts from old hurts threaten to stop their bond before it even starts. The imperfect warlocks have their own issues too, and Claire isn't sure that if she accepts them as hers, they'll accept her in return.

Jett and Axel are a newly formed Warlock Pair, but Jett is far from ready to accept a Perfect Triad Bond with a witch, even if it means a stronger, more stabilized magic for them all. Axel, however, is more than ready to find their third. Even as friends, the two Alpha Warlocks are barely able agree and get along with each other, let alone merge their magic with another.

But when these powerful Alpha Warlocks save Claire from two over-zealous warlocks at the festival, history and the present merge into an encounter that fills them with intense desire for her. They can't see the curvy earth witch joining with anyone else but them.

Is Claire strong enough to use the sexual and magical connection she has with these alpha male warlocks to heal them so they can create a future together?

Excerpt:

Claire had nothing on this warlock, who threw Mason so far that she couldn’t see where he landed. That was some strength, and she felt her body tighten in hidden places at the thought of him using that strength on her in more intimate endeavors.

“Can you get out of the water okay?” he asked.

He didn’t wait for her response. The strange man simply scooped her up and walked her out of the water himself.

As soon as her skin touched his, she felt like she was melting from the inside out. Her tongue longed to taste him and lick the lingering salt water off his gorgeous skin.
Claire felt wetness spread between her legs and chastised herself for her wantonness. She didn’t know this man, and already she was geared up to jump him.

Then the cloud slipped past the moon and lit up the face of the man who carried her in his arms like it was the most natural thing in the universe.

She couldn’t breathe.

“Axel?” she asked.

He paused just at the water’s edge and turned to her.

Axel looked down at her as if she was a ghost, and he wondered how she remained solid in his arms.

“Claire,” he said. “It is you. I hoped, but you’re here.”

He sat her down on the dry sand, so she stood up on her own, but he didn’t let go of her.

“I’m here? What are you doing here?” she asked.

He didn’t answer. Instead, he used his thumb to trace her lower lip.
Oh, his skin was lovely, and his thumb was absolutely divine.

Without thinking, she opened her mouth and took his thumb into her mouth and sucked on it.

A groan escaped his lips followed by a satisfying grunt.

The sounds were making her wetter. She had questions for him, didn’t she? But for the life of her, she couldn’t think of one thing to ask him.

He removed his thumb so quickly that she barely had time to balance herself on his wet chest. A very naked chest. Droplets of water still clung to his muscular body.

She looked down and saw that wasn’t the only bare part of him. Axel was naked from head to toe, and, if that wasn’t enough, he was hard as a brick.

Claire glanced back up and saw a shimmer of blue the color of day skies lining his irises.

He was filled with magic, and if she wasn’t mistaken, he was turned on by her. His chest rose and fell with difficulty, as if he had just ran a marathon, and Claire’s face was close enough to kiss that powerful chest.

Before she could say anything else, he guided his arm around her back, lifted her slightly on her tiptoes, and brought her lips to his.

Virtual Book Blast Tour: Queen of Clubs, Season One by Katie de Long

Katie de Long is awarding a randomly drawn commenter via Rafflecopter a signed copy of a Queen of Clubs novella plus a hand created pendant (US only).

Blur:

The exotic dancers and employees of the Queen of Clubs walk a fine line, with only wits, beauty, and market savvy to keep them from toppling into the shark pit. Ride shotgun through lap dances, romance, and sexual awakenings. Don't worry, these girls won't ask what your hands are doing under the tip rail.

This collection contains all seven novellas in the first season of Queen of Clubs. They contain adult language and mature content, and can be read standalone or in order.

Excerpt:

I stared into the bottle, as best I could in the flickering light, and tried to remind myself he was doing me a favor; it wouldn't kill me to be social.

Okay, it might have killed me to be social. But I knew I really should try, anyways. Besides, he had a quirky grin, and tonight may as well not be a total bust. I'd had the thought that Rex was cute, in a rough and potentially-overpowering-you sort of way many times. Not exactly a pleasant thought in a building with walls so thin that he could probably hear me moan when I touched myself, imagining him startling me in an alley.

But when that harshness, that barely-concealed power was being directed at protecting me, even if just from my own fears in the night...I could put his strangeness aside for the night, maybe even indulge.

Author Bio and Links:

Katie de Long lives in the Pacific Northwest, realizing her dream of being a crazy cat-lady. As a kid, Katie flagged the fade-to-blacks in every adult book she encountered, and when she began writing, she vowed to use cutaways sparingly. After all, that's when the good stuff happens. And on a kindle, no one asks why there's so many bookmarks in her library.

No Sex Is Safe Sex T-Shirt Campaign by Vivienne Diane Neal

As a Home Economics Consultant, I conducted in-service workshops, showing caregivers who were caring for people living with HIV/AIDS how to apply nutrition to maintain optimum health. But I also stressed the importance of protecting oneself when it comes to having sex.

HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is a global epidemic but it’s an issue that is not talked about or publicized enough in the media. And yet, not a week goes by that you don’t read on social media or hear about someone, primarily teenage girls and young adult women being exposed to or infected with HIV, which can lead to AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) by someone they trusted and loved.

When it comes to sex, many people will not reveal their status. Many people are HIV positive but don’t know it. Others know it, but won’t say a word, thus putting their partner’s health and life at risk. The mission of this T-shirt is to educate men and women that it is their responsibility to protect themselves. For teens, abstinence is the preferred choice, but as we know not everyone will abstain from having sex. Being faced with many internal and external factors, refraining from sex until marriage can be a challenge for most teens.

Engaging in sex is a high risk behavior, whether you use protection or not. Unfortunately, many people are still having unprotected sex, with people they hardly know or don’t know, exposing them and others to not only HIV/AIDS but other STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases).

Each individual has to be his or her own advocate. If you choose to have sex, both of you should get tested first, at the same time and at the same health facility and share your results with each other. From this point on, you both can choose to engage in a monogamous and committed relationship.

If your potential partner refuses to get tested, go your separate ways. Always put yourself first and never take for granted that the person you’re with is HIV/AIDS/STD negative.

As a doctor once said on a TV talk show, “No Sex Is Safe Sex,” which can be interpreted two ways: Not having sex is safe sex, and there is no such thing as safe sex if you having sex with one or numerous partners. It is hope that this message on a T-Shirt will help educate and make one think before engaging in sex, no matter the person’s age, gender, color, religion or ethnicity, because we are all at risk at getting HIV/AIDS.

This Blog reaches singles and couples of all colors, ages (18+) religions, ethnicities and lifestyles. It is hope that each visitor will help spread the word by purchasing our No Sex Is Safe Sex T-shirt here

At the present time, orders can only be shipped to the USA.
